A DIFFERENT WAY TO SEE CHINA

Give the landscape room.

The appeal of Western Sichuan is not only reaching a viewpoint. It is having time to stop along the way and arrive without turning every day into a race. Tell us which landscapes draw you here, and we will discuss the travel time, walking and rest that need to sit alongside them.

01

Scenery at your pace

Start with what you want to see and how you like to spend a day. A journey can include scenic stops and village visits as well as time on foot.

02

Walking, by choice

Talk through the walking you want to include. Duration, terrain and elevation matter as much as the photograph at the end of the trail.

03

Time between places

Discuss transfers and overnight stops early. A shorter list of places can leave more space for weather changes, rest and the moments you did not plan.

THE JOURNEY, IN DETAIL

Plan the practical side early

For a Western Sichuan trip, start by sharing your dates, travel connections and the places you have in mind. Before agreeing an itinerary, ask how long each transfer is expected to take and how much of each day will be available for exploring.

Mountain travel needs a plan that reflects the specific destination and the people travelling. Ask us to explain walking demands, overnight locations and elevations, as well as what arrangements are available. We will discuss these details before the journey is agreed.

Mountaineering and winter hiking are separate activities from a general sightseeing trip. If either is your main interest, tell us about your previous experience and goals at the start. Suitability, guide arrangements, equipment requirements and current conditions need a separate discussion; a summit or snow-covered route is not a guaranteed inclusion.

We also discuss alternatives when conditions affect the original plan. The details depend on the journey and the confirmed booking arrangements. Clear expectations before departure are more useful than a promise that every trip will unfold exactly as pictured.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

Is Western Sichuan only for experienced hikers?

Not every trip needs a demanding hike. Explain your interests and walking experience so that we can discuss suitable possibilities. A scenic journey and a mountaineering trip require different planning.

Can we include a mountain ascent?

You can enquire about an ascent, but it should be assessed separately from a sightseeing itinerary. Share your experience and objectives first; the specific activity and available arrangements must be discussed before booking.

Can I choose a slower trip?

Yes. Tell us whether you would prefer fewer overnight stops, shorter active days or more time in one place. We can discuss these preferences alongside the distances between the places you want to visit.

Can we add this to an existing China holiday?

Send your confirmed arrival and departure plans and the days available. We can discuss whether Western Sichuan fits your time and interests, and where a more focused trip would work better than adding too many stops.
